Alex was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1949. He began his career in the world of hair design quite by chance, at a very early age. As a rebellious little boy, he would run away to the seaside on a regular basis. One day, tired of hunting him down, his parents decided when he was seven years old, that the only way to keep an eye on him was to leave him with his grandfather when they were busy.

His grandfather owned a barbershop and Alex would spend his days helping out where he could, beginning with sweeping up the cut hair and shampooing, until by the age of ten he was shaving his father.

He left school at sixteen and began working for the Unisex hair salon at the Hilton Hotel in Istanbul. He then served his twenty months conscription in the army before return to the Hilton in 1971 where he remained working for a further two years until 1973 when he arrived in the United Kingdom.

Here he worked for twelve years at various hair salons including 'Raymond', 'Steiner' and SNL. In 1985 he opened his own salon in Birmingham and soon built up his business enough to by another salon. Two years later, in 1986, he moved to London and worked for 'Michael Angelo' for a while before opening up his own barbershop in Hampton Hill, Middlesex in November 2001.

Since starting this shop, his business has been growing steadily day by day due to his experience, skill, the friendly atmosphere and low prices.
